Ministries for all ages

The River offers ministries to children, students, adults, men, women and those with special needs.

Children ministries

Nursery

We know that your child is a direct gift from God. Therefore, rest assured that our nursery is staffed by a group of background-checked volunteers who want to share the love of God with each and every child. Children ages birth – 2 years old enjoy biblically based music and age-appropriate toys that are sanitized after each service. In our nursery, children are introduced to stories from Scripture, along with activities that help reinforce the weekly lesson. Our volunteers consider your child’s safety a top priority and have security procedures in place. We are honored that your child is taking his or her first steps toward Jesus with us.

Pre-School

Children ages 3-5 years old will learn how God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Through activities, crafts, Bible stories, and worship time, kids learn concepts one month at a time. They will easily and eagerly share with you Bible verses and stories that they have learned. All activities are interactive and repeat the same monthly concept for easy comprehension. In our preschool, kids are allowed to be kids….wiggles and giggles are not just expected, but encouraged!

Elementary

Kids ages kindergarten-5th grade will learn about 3 basis truths: Wisdom, I need to make the wise choice. Faith, I can trust God no matter what. Friendship, I should treat others the way I want to be treated. Kids receive individualized attention and a lot of interaction time with a group of peers. Kids will understand how the lesson applies to them by discussing real life experiences and participating in a variety of activities. They will learn life application, a memory verse and how to pray. Regardless of their age or grade, kids will feel comfortable and safe while learning about God.

Student ministries

The name is derived from white rater rapids' levels of difficulty and danger for each section of the river. Starting at Class 1 or C1, which would be like a lazy river. You could jump in a little inner tube and float along. On the other side of the equation is a Class 6 Rapid, which would be the most intense, dangerous, and life threatening rapid you could find. In C6 Ministries we are ready to push the limits.

Surrounded by crazy and diverse music, hilarious and funny moments, creative arts, great food, and give-a-ways, we will emphasize four key things: 1.the Gospel message 2.Personal growth 3.Equipping the student’s to reach their friends and family for Christ 4.Opportunities for them to serve their community and world.

We are willing take on the hardest; most challenging rapids of life can bring our way. We are unwilling to float along the lazy river, never really experiencing what God has for us. C6 students are ready to chase after God with EVERYTHING! Not holding back anything for ourselves, but being fully devoted followers of Christ. Understanding How Much God Loves Us! How much He cares, so that we can live unashamed and unafraid in world that is afraid of everything! C6 is about bringing together a group of students who can care, back up, protect, and love each other. When the rocks and bumps of this life hit, to have people who will catch you when you’re on the edge of falling out of the raft. Creating a community of students that can help each other live out their faith. What we know is that there is only one motto that we can claim, and that is in C6 Ministries we will “Live Dangerously”

Adult ministries

Every week we have five different adult groups made up of people from all walks of life that gather together in homes across Grant County for fellowship, food, and Bible Study. If you are tired of doing life alone then you need to connect in a life group. Find people with the same common interest, find the accountability that you have always needed and wanted. Below is a list of the groups and where they meet. For more details or to contact the leader, click the Fellowship One icon above.

Women's ministries

The River Women's Ministry offers a variety of events and programs, which seek to provide teaching, mentoring, encouragement and fellowship for women of all ages. The desire of the women's ministry is for women to clearly hear God's call on their lives, become all God has called and created them to be, and utilize their spiritual gifts within and outside the Body of Christ. This is accomplished through Women's gathering events, Bible studies, area retreats and outreach activities.

The River's women's ministries are directed by Judy Knudsen (judiknudsen@gmail.com).

Women's Bible study meets during the school year at 6:30 Monday evenings in The Cove at the church.

Special events are planned throughout the year. (Please see calendar.)
